Well we all love to play games don’t we? Different kinds of games entertain us in different ways and fantasy sport is a part of these games. Now what is fantasy hockey? It is a form of fantasy sport where players build a team that competes with other players who have different teams, based on the statistics generated by professional hockey players or teams and interestingly this game’s majority of pools are based on the teams and players of the National Hockey League. But like every game this game too has a structure and a typical fantasy hockey league or hockey pool has 8 - 12 teams but often has as many as 20. This game is played through many leagues like “Head to Head” league, in this the owners are matched against each other and they battle it out to win as many categories as possible per week. “Points” league is one in which point multipliers are assigned to certain categories and all owners try to accumulate points by scoring in these categories without the weekly competition. In “Rotisserie” league the teams are ranked in order from best to worst. “Express League” offers contests with shorter timeframes than traditional season-long fantasy leagues. "Keeper" or "Dynasty" league can be run each year in any of the above formats with a winner declared at the end of each season.
Well the team structure in this game varies according to the owner but generally the team format of this game is 2 Centers (Forward), 2 Left Wings (Forward), 2 Right Wings (Forward), 4 Defense men, 2 Goaltenders, 4 Bench Players, 2 [Injured reserve] and the ways of scoring points are Goals, Assists, Plus/Minus, Penalty Minute, Power Play Points, Game-Winning Goals, Face-offs Won, Shots On Goal, Wins (Goalie), Hat Tricks.
